Prime Minister Alexander De Croo,  responsible for Foreign and European Affairs, had a meeting today with Nadia Murrad, the Yezidi human rights activist who was awarded the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize along with Dr. Denis Mukwege for her efforts against sexual violence as a weapon of war. During the discussion, Prime Minister De Croo emphasized that the acts of sexual violence committed by Russian soldiers in Ukraine cannot go unpunished.

Today, Belgium, together with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the British foreign ministry, organized a seminar to put human rights high on the agenda of business, as part of the Belgian Economic Mission to the United Kingdom.
